“I’ve babysat lots of times when I was younger, plus we’ve both spent plenty of time around Amelia.”

She’s right. I’m sure it’ll be fine, it’s just that this is a big deal to me. Tonight we’re babysitting for Hale and Brielle so they can go on their first date night since they had Amelia. She’s three months old, and so damn cute. Thank God she looks like her mommy and not her daddy.

There’s a knock at the door and I shoot off the couch. “I’ll get it.”

Macey chuckles at me as I head for the door.

Hale has two diaper bags strapped to him, along with Brielle’s purse, and he looks a little worried. I would be too if I was about to leave a kid with me. Brielle, on the other hand, appears calm and collected as she gently bounces their daughter, Amelia, in her arms.

“I’ll take her.” Brielle smiles and hands Amelia over to me. “Hi, princess.” I look down at her at coo. Her blue eyes light up and she smiles a gummy grin at me.

Macey stands beside me and looks down at the baby.

Brielle strokes her hand through Amelia’s dark hair and smiles. “She needs her bottle at about seven, and then we change her and lay her down by eight.”

“Okay, bottle at seven, diaper at . . . maybe we should write this down,” I say.

“I’ll remember,” Macey assures me, sharing an amused look with Brielle.

Hale begins pulling items from his bag. “This is her favorite dolly. And her binky is the purple one with the princess crown on it.” He hands me a cloth baby doll in a pink dress. “And she likes to be rocked to sleep with her blankie tucked around her.”

“Got it. What about diapers?”

Hale rummages around inside the bag. “I packed twelve. You’ll probably only need one, but you can never be too prepared.”

I nod in silent agreement, trying to soak in every detail. Then I notice Macey and Brielle standing back and gawking at us as if we’re the most comical thing they’ve ever seen.

Two big fucking Doms, and we turn into bumbling idiots around a baby.

Shit.

“It’s a baby, not a rocket ship,” I say, shrugging my shoulders. “We’ll figure it out.”

Hale straightens beside me, realizing how we must look to our women. “Right. It’ll be fine.” He leans in and kisses his daughter’s forehead before taking Brielle’s hand. “Are you ready?”

She nods. “Thank you guys so much for watching her. We’ll only be gone a few hours. And please call me if she gives you any trouble at all.”

“Take your time. You guys deserve this break. Have fun,” Macey says, opening the door for them.

When the door closes behind them and I’m left holding a baby in my arms, I’m really glad Macey’s here with me.

“What should we do now?” I ask.

“Let’s bring her into the living room. We can play for a little bit before it’s time for her bottle.”

I carry her into the living room, and lay her down on the sofa between Macey and me.

“Will you hand me her baby doll?”

Macey grabs the diaper bag with a confused look on her face. “Didn’t Hale have two bags?”

“Uh. I think that second one might have been his toy bag.”

Realization dawns and Macey grimaces. “Let’s file that under information I did not need.” She’s still frowning when she hands me the doll.

I chuckle and go back to playing with Amelia. “How do you feel about one of these?”

“A baby?” Her confusion is obvious, with a furrowed line appearing between her brows.

“Yeah.”

“With you, you mean?”

“I sure as fuck don’t want some other guy knocking up my girlfriend, so yes, with me.” I grin.

She smiles broadly. “I didn’t know you wanted kids.”

We hadn’t talked about that yet, which only makes me realize there is so much to look forward to in our future. “I do. In fact, I want all of it. Marriage, kids, and a house in the suburbs to raise them in.”

“What about the club?”

“The club will always be part of my life, but I’ve thought about hiring a full-time operations manager to run the place for me down the road. I can be a silent owner. I don’t think a BDSM club is a good place to raise a kid. But it could be the perfect place for mommy and daddy to escape to on a date night, don’t you think?” I look down at Amelia and chuckle.

“Ew! Are you serious? My brother and Brielle are at the club right now? That’s their big date?” Macey shudders, and I just laugh.

After all, adults need playtime too.
