Instead, he used measured, relentless strokes, dragging his cock over that spot inside her that shattered her.

Her orgasm sent her reeling, crying out, and falling forward as she ground against him, shuddering through the waves of pleasure that penetrated every part of her. Her toes curled and even her scalp tingled. Diaz wrapped his arms around her back and groaned into her neck as he climaxed, burying deep and nearly cutting off her breath as he held her. She didn’t care. She’d never felt so cherished.

Damp with perspiration, they clung together. The position wasn’t the most comfortable, but Jessie didn’t want to disengage. Not with Diaz stroking her back, kissing her neck, his heart beating against her chest.

“I love you,” she whispered.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve that.”

She pushed off his chest to sit upright. “You didn’t have to do anything other than be yourself. You deserve to be loved. So do I.”

He nodded, his expression softer now. “I’m starting to believe that.” He swept his hand over her face. “I love you, too, Jess.”

They parted, dressed, and climbed back into the front seat.

“Now what?” she asked.

“I guess we go back to headquarters.”

He didn’t look happy about that. “What’s wrong?”

“We’re going to have to get our own place. I can’t chase you around at headquarters and rip your clothes off and have you on the kitchen table with Grange and the guys hanging around all the time.”

She laughed. “No, I guess you can’t.” Ridiculously giddy with happiness, she said, “So, I guess we’ll go apartment hunting?”

He grimaced. “Yeah. I suppose it’s time I set down some roots.”

“Oh, the sacrifices a man makes in the name of love.”

He leaned over and pressed his lips to hers in a kiss so tender it made her ache inside. He barely pulled away, whispering against her mouth. “Anything for you, Jessie. Anything.”
