She scooted closer to him, to lean against him. “I want to marry you and have babies with you as soon as humanly possible.”

He grinned. “I can arrange that.”

“I know you can.”

The driver let them out at Evelyn’s apartment. They made their way inside, and once he closed the door, Gray pushed Evelyn against it. “I think we should consummate our engagement.”

“Definitely.” She started to kiss him. “Are you . . . uh . . . up for that?”

He took her hand and laid it over him, where he was already hard. “Babe, I’m definitely up for it. I’ve been aching for you.”

“Then let’s get you comfortable and get me naked so we can get you inside me in a hurry.”

She led him over to the oversized chair he’d been sitting in earlier. He eased into it and she leaned over him to undo his belt buckle. The searing look of desire he gave her turned her liquid. She dragged her fingernails over the denim of his jeans, down his erection as she teased him.

“Hurry,” he rasped, lifting against her hand as she dragged the zipper down, then eased his jeans open and freed his cock. He was hot and heavy in her hands and she stroked him, her nipples tingling as he groaned.

She kicked off her shoes and unzipped her skirt, letting it fall to the floor, then very deftly undid each button on her blouse, watching his gaze go dark as she pulled it off to reveal her pink bra and matching panties.

“You are so goddamn sexy, Evelyn,” he said, his fingers gripping the sides of the chair.

She reached behind her and undid the bra, then shimmied out of her panties and straddled him, her body pulsing with need. He cupped her breasts as she took his mouth in a searing kiss that left her breathless and throbbing.

She gripped his cock and eased down over him, sliding him into her. With each inch, she was reminded of how well they fit together, and when he was buried inside her, she stilled, meeting his gaze.

“I love you,” she whispered, then began to rock against him while his shaft swelled inside her, making her quiver.

He pulled the clip from her hair and tangled his fingers in the strands. “I love you, too.” He drew her forward and kissed her, a kiss that she felt all the way to her toes, so filled with passion and emotion that she knew without a doubt she would love this man until the day she died.

He took her hands in his and then arched up into her, rolling his hips toward her.

She met his thrust by grinding against him, her body filled with him, her heart filled with his love, deepening their connection until she was so close she was crying out with the need to come.

“I’m there, Gray. Come with me.”

“I’ll go when you go. I’m going to come in you, Evelyn.”

Just hearing the words set her off, and she splintered like a burst of fireworks, her orgasm exploding from within. She arched her back and dug down deep against him while he powered up into her and released with a shout, holding on to her hips.

It was intense and a moment she wouldn’t soon forget as Gray pulled her toward him for a blistering kiss that sealed the two of them as one. And when they both came down from that epic high, he held her, stroked her back, and whispered his love again to her.

It was perfect, and it would be forever.

“I think you’re late for work,” he murmured some time later.

“I think I’m probably hurting your ribs,” she said, not giving a shit about work right now.

“My ribs went numb like an hour ago.”

She laughed and climbed off, then helped him up. They went into the bathroom to clean up, then climbed into bed together.

“Seriously, Evelyn, shouldn’t you be working?”

“Yes. But I’m taking the afternoon off.”

“Okay.” He pulled her next to him and they settled like that.

“I need to get you a ring. We’ll have to go shopping. My mother will be appalled if we announce our engagement and you don’t have a ring.”

“Mmm,” was all she said as she drew imaginary circles over his chest.

“What are you doing for dinner tonight?”

She lifted her head. “Nothing. Why?”

“I’ll have some rings brought in and you can pick out one you like.”

She blinked. “Just like that?”

“Well, yeah. I want to tell people we’re engaged as soon as possible. Can’t have some slick politician swooping in and trying to take you away from me while I’m in a weakened state.”

She rolled her eyes. “I don’t need your ring on me to tell everyone that I’m in love with you and we’re going to be together forever.”

“I like the sound of that. But still, I need to make a phone call. By tonight, there’ll be a ring on your finger.”

The one thing she knew about Gray Preston was, when he was determined to make something happen, it happened. “Okay. Ring on my finger tonight. Got it.”

He leaned back and pulled her against him again. “See? There’s nothing we can’t accomplish together. Just wait ’til we start making babies.”

She grinned. She couldn’t wait for that part, either.
